The show, slated to become an annual event, was India's first to focus on swimming pools, spas and luxury bathroom products.

Held at Pragati Maidan, the event attracted 42 exhibitors representing countries such as Australia, USA, Germany, France, Spain, UK, UAE, and of course, India.

"The goal of the event was to create a platform for our industry and I believe we achieved that," said Sonny Sharma, CEO and Editor of WAVES Magazine. "The wet wellness sector of India is a burgeoning industry in its infancy and we hope to continue connecting and educating the market."

Linda Carrol, Vice President of HornerXpress Worldwide and an exhibitor at the show, was delighted with the company's results. "It was our honour and pleasure to exhibit at the first WAVES show," she said. "We were extremely pleased with the turnout and quality of the visitors. As with other 'first time' shows, you never know as a foreign exhibitor how it will all flow, but we sold all of our products on our stand to Goutham Koka of Olympia Pools in Hyderabad.

"Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who took the time to visit us ā€” it was exciting and interesting to learn more about the developing industry throughout India. We're looking forward to exhibiting and seeing everyone at the next one."

Andrew Pullen, General Manager of Spa World Australia, also offered a positive review. "We would like to congratulate Christopher Castillo (Waves President), Sonny Sharma and the whole Waves show for a great inaugural event," he said. "We connected with well over 50 potential dealers and distributors for Spa World and Vortex spas and sold some product straight from the stand. Well done guys and see you next year!"

Along with product exhibitors from all over the world, education was a focus of the show ā€” it featured seminars and workshops by representatives from AstralPool, Spa World (Australia), AquaCal Heat Pumps (USA), Hayward Pool Products (USA), Suncast Solar (USA), Zodiac (Australia), and Waterco (Australia).

The sold-out show attracted more than 1,000 attendees and delegates from throughout India and abroad, making it the most successful exhibition in India of its kind. Talks are underway to further develop the event for 2012.
