The EpiCenter pool data server currently offers over 60 industry-specific data categories for pool products manufacturers, builders, retailers, distributors and service firms.

P.K. Data, a market research firm that has tracked the swimming pool and spa industries for decades, offering insights on the size and state of these markets, has just introduced EpiCenter, a web-based pool industry data resource. EpiCenter features a dashboard-style interface that allows users to access detailed maps, tables, comparative graphs and timelines of pool industry statistics.

The EpiCenter analysis support tool offers over 100 statistical categories including the installed base of existing inground and aboveground pools, new pool sales, aftermarket data on chemicals and equipment, plus pool owner statistics encompassing shopping preferences, maintenance habits and demographics.

β€œEpiCenter represents the culmination of our 20 years reporting on the swimming pool and spa industry,” commented Bil Kennedy, P.K. Data’s CEO. β€œWith EpiCenter we have created a web-based analysis tool that reflects the results of some 400 studies among consumers, dealers, builders, service firms, distributors and pool products manufacturers. Virtually all of the pool industry’s institutional knowledge is now housed in a single hosted environment that is accessible anywhere in the world at any time.”

The focal point of EpiCenter is its mapping display. All datasets can be evaluated at the state, region and county level. This makes EpiCenter especially vital for local analyses - a key feature given the geographically diverse nature of the pool construction and retail segments.

Kennedy reports that EpiCenter has just completed three months of extensive testing. β€œSeveral firms participated in various systems trials and the response has been quite positive,” he said. β€œThe key deliverables are speed of analysis, robustness of the data, and the accessibility of the system.”

The EpiCenter pool data server can be accessed on almost all platforms and operating systems including desktops, laptops, iPads/tablets and smartphones. More information on EpiCenter may be found on P.K. Data’s website here
