NSPF Announces Organizational Changes
The National Swimming Pool Foundation has reorganized several of its departments in response to increased demands for its educational products and training, and with an eye toward "further advances in educational offerings and research," according to a press release from the association.
As part of this restructuring, Ray Perkins joins NSPF as the customer service and fulfillment director, a newly created position. Perkins holds a Masters degree in organizational management and comes to the association with experience in a broad range of industries, including healthcare, communications and manufacturing.
"Ray brings us depth and breadth in customer relationship management and information technology infrastructure," said Dr. Thomas M. Lachocki, CEO of the Colorado Springs, Colo., association. "He will focus on helping us evolve how we interact with and serve those who choose NSPF materials."
Michelle Kavanaugh has been promoted to marketing and conference manager. In that role, she will be responsible for planning the World Aquatic Health Conference and for coordinating NSFP's marketing communications efforts.
In addition, Margaret Smith will now serve as assistant to the CEO.
Energy Efficiency Laws Take Shape Under APSP-15
Pool efficiency laws are ushering in a new age of pool equipment design for residential pools. Led by California's Title 20 and Title 24, and spreading to states such as Arizona and Florida, the movement is having a strong effect on the way the pool circulatory system is put together.

Hayward Field Techs All CST-Certified
Hayward recently announced that all of its Field Technical Managers are now Certified Service Technicians. The company claims this is a first for a business its size.
"The national certification of out entire team validates the incredible commitment that Hayward places on training, professionalism and service," said Scott Wiegman, a training manager for the company.
Michael Reed, APSP director of professional development, said, "We are pleased to be able to support Hayward's investment in their employees with a customized training and certification experience. Going through the CST program together enhanced teamwork and will lead to greater organizational effectiveness."
PebbleTec Announces New Management Team
Pebble Technology, Scottsdale, Ariz., named Darrell Eckstein president and CEO, a move that went into effect Dec. 16. Eckstein, who will continue in the role of CFO, replaces Terry Jirovsky, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
"In his role as chief financial officer, Darrell has provided strong leadership to the manufacturing, finance, accounting and human resources functions," said Rick Jones, PebbleTec director. "Darrell joined PTI in 2006 and has been an integral part of our success."
Also, Bob Haning has been promoted to executive vice president, sales and marketing, after serving the previous year as vice president of sales and marketing.
Jones praised Haning for his ability to execute focused sales plans and increase market share and profitability.
"We are confident that PTI is well positioned for success and that Darrell will lead the company with a sound business strategy," Jones said. "Going forward, our focus with be on reenergizing growth."
