From October 15th to 18th this year, Piscina Barcelona, one of the largest international trade shows covering the pool and spa industry, will draw companies from all over the globe to the Gran Via Exhibition Center in Barcelona, Spain.
Piscina Barcelona has evolved into a show that encompasses the entire breadth of the aquatic facilities industry, categorized into three major sectors: swimming pools, wellness and sports and recreation. Featuring more than 500 exhibitors, the Barcelona International Aquatic Exhibition draws exhibitors and visitors from 110 countries, including some of the best growth markets in South America and Asia.
This year, Piscina Barcelona will host the Wellness & Spa Experiences Event, which will feature the trends and new products of the wellness industry, a booming sector that offers services to over 289 million consumers worldwide in search of relaxation, health and personal balance.
The event will feature an actual reconstructed wellness center to allow visitors the opportunity for live observation of not just the equipment and services used in a top-flight wellness center, but also how it should be managed to make it viable and profitable. 400 square meters in size, this space will be divided into five main areas, in accordance with the current European requisites: reception, changing rooms, relaxation space, dry zone and wet/water zone.
This last zone will feature an active swimming pool that will include waterbeds, waterfalls, mixed bubbles (air and water) and water jets. It will also have two spas (cold and hot), a shower temple, a foot spa, a sauna, a steam bath and thermal loungers.
“A wellness centre is much more than a bubble bath. It is essential for professionals in this industry to know the technical and commercial aspect of this type of facility. This will avoid repeating past mistakes, such as lack of promotion, construction of over-sized projects and commercial positioning that is not suited to the needs of potential clientele,” explained Valérie Le Mao, coordinator of the Wellness & Spa Experience Event. "Now, more than ever, professionals in this field need to share knowledge and experiences in order to improve their business and detect new growth opportunities," she said.
For the first time the show will also coincide with Body Life, an event dedicated to fitness that will showcase proposals in equipment, management and design of sports facilities. Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via Exhibition Centre will provide the setting for both events, offering a complete panorama of the modern wellness concept.
