SeaKlear Taps Pascadlo for SalesHaloSource, parent company of the SeaKlear brand of premium water treatment products for pools and spas, is pleased to announce it has tapped Jon Pascadlo as SeaKlear’s Territory Sales Manager for the Southeast. Pascadlo has worked in the industry for many years, most recently with AquaComfort, Delta UV and Pentair, respectively. Jon also spent time with Baystate Pool Supplies and was a branch manager for SCP in Baltimore.

Rising Sun Pools & Spas Named Retailer of the YearTara Onthank, Michael Vassallo and Gina daRoza, co-owners of Rising Sun Pools & Spas, a family-owned business providing customers with high-quality pools, spas and aquatic accessories for more than 40 years, have announced that the company has won an inaugural North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) Retailer of the Year Award. Rising Sun Pools & Spas was chosen for its commitment to consistent community service and involvement, longevity and track record of success, and dedication to excellent customer service and development of strong client relationships.

The award was presented Friday, April 12 at NCRMA’s Retailer of the Year luncheon at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. The awards luncheon was part of this year’s UNC Retail Conference, an event including workshops, speakers and panel discussions that educates attendees about the retail market and is targeted to engage strategic conversation around topics facing the retail industry today.
Earth Science Laboratories Names New CEOEarth Science Laboratories is pleased to announce the appointment of David Nicholas as chief executive officer. Nicholas is a chemical engineer from Tennessee Tech University. His post-graduate studies include work in fluid dynamics at LSU as well as studies at the Kellogg School of Management, where he completed the executive development program. He is also a registered professional engineer and holds two U.S. patents.
Nicholas began his career at the Dow Chemical Company, successfully completing a variety of assignments in R&D, engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and business management. Following Dow, he worked in venture capital and has successfully led the growth of several technology driven companies such as Air Quality Sciences, Purafil, and most recently, VRTX Technologies, a water treatment company. In 2003, he was appointed by the U.S. Commerce Secretary to serve as an advisor in the area of environmental technology export issues. He was recently invited to the White House to discuss with the President the barriers small companies face in expanding their export businesses.
