Bullfrog International, a hot tub manufacturer in Salt Lake City, is fielding a team for the Relay for Life, a benefit for the American Cancer Society. The relay will take place on a quarter-mile oval track in South Jordan, Utah, July 13-14.
Members of the Bullfrog team will circle the track non-stop throughout the event, taking turns running or walking laps throughout the night.
Relay for Life is a charity event where individuals and corporations commit to circling a track non-stop throughout the duration of the event. Team members camp out around the track and take turns walking laps throughout the night.
Relay for Life began in 1985 when a Tacoma, Wash., surgeon ran for 24 hours to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society. Now, after more than 25 years, Relay For Life events are held across the country.
Leading Bullfrog’s fundraising efforts are Sean McKinney, director of manufacturing, and executive assistant Patti Mahon.
“You know we’ve tried to just make this a lot of fun for everyone here at Bullfrog. We’ve been raising money to fight cancer in a bunch of fun ways – contests, games, good-natured fines for speaking out of turn at meetings, and some rather interesting contests to get the executives and managers to do crazy stuff,” said McKinney.
