The International Swimming Pool Show, Piscina BCN, will be held from the 18th to the 21st of October. Now in its tenth year, the show has become an international benchmark event and debate forum for the recreational water industry.

“The swimming pool sector is structurally sound and in constant evolution” said Eloi Planes, president of the show. “At a time when the construction of new pools has dropped significantly, our strategy must be focused on two fronts: on the one hand, to offer solutions for the maintenance and renovation of existing facilities; and, on the other hand, look towards foreign markets while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and the most innovative solutions in all fields”.

The products of over 300 direct exhibitors will be showcased in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition centre. In line with the changes in habits of swimming pool users — increasingly centered on the search for relaxation — there is a 17 percent increase in Wellness-related products and services at the show. Other increases are in Covers (18 percent) and Physical and Chemical Water Treatment (57 percent).

The show will include discussions by experts of crucial industry topics in the 30-plus conferences and round tables, structured in four subject blocks: aquatic parks on the first day, residential swimming pools on the second, and wellness and foreign markets on the third and fourth days.

With the collaboration of the Institut de la Tecnologia de la Construcció de Catalunya, ITeC, the show is also hosting the Piscina BCN 2011 Awards, which will be presented on the 19th of October to companies that have entered the most innovative and sustainable products and work.
