HaloSource, parent company the SeaKlear brand of pool and spa water treatment products, celebrated Earth Day by achieving a recycling milestone: Since it started recycling crab and shrimp shells in 1981 for its environmentally friendly pool products, HaloSource has recycled more than 20 million kilograms of shells.

The company celebrated this milestone in conjunction with Earth Day with a luncheon and a speech by local recycling guru Tom Watson, columnist for the Seattle Times and King County’s renowned “EcoConsumer.” Watson congratulated the company on its achievement and shared how to reduce waste as part of the company’s internal sustainability efforts.

“We are very proud to have reached this recycling milestone and appreciate the support of pool professionals who have been buying our products since the 1980s. Together we are working to reduce the waste on our planet,” says Sean Manne, senior director at SeaKlear.
