• HaloSource, parent company of the SeaKlear brand of premium water treatment products for pools and spas, has promoted Rick Lockett to president and general manager for all of the company’s businesses in the Americas.
Lockett has been with HaloSource ssince 2003 in regional management, national sales management and most recently leading the company’s water clarification and water purification businesses as senior vice president of water treatment. Lockett has an extensive background in commercial sales management in the hospitality, multi-housing, government and water park industries.
• Bullfrog International has named Jim Sueppel director of U.S. sales. Sueppel, formerly of Jacuzzi Hot Tubs and Sundance Spas, will assume responsibility for sales strategy, team leadership, and training in the United States and will personally oversee a region that includes Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and the eastern portions of North and South Dakota. His experience includes nearly 25 years in the pool and spa industry. Prior to his roles in sales for major manufacturers he spent nearly 15 years as a pool and hot tub retailer and in construction of gunite pools and spas.

• Premier Pools, one of the nation’s largest pool companies, says it has added 14 new licensee locations over the last seven months. Paul Porter, CEO of Premier Pools Management Corp., says he began visiting builders on the East Coast earlier this year to expand the company’s reach northward from its concentration in the Southeast, West Coast and Texas. Among the new licensees are a company in Pennsylvania, two locations in Missouri and one in Chicago.
• Zodiac Pool Systems has renewed its Platinum sponsorship for the 2012 GAVA Awards, according to a press release from the Las Vegas-based awards competition. Zodiac has been a supporter of the water-inspired design competition since 2009.
The 2012 GAVA awards competition is now open through May 15, and claims to be the only independent design awards competition open to all design disciplines including: architects, contractors, interior and exterior designers, home builders, pool builders, landscape architects and landscape designers worldwide. Categories include pools, spas, water features, waterfalls, reflection ponds, koi ponds, and water fountains, as well as special materials such as lighting, acrylic walls, tiles, natural materials and course “green AquaTekture.” Information is available at www.gavaawards.com.
