Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation Funds Swim Lessons

The Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation funded swimming lessons at two Boys & Girls Clubs in Florida this summer.  Each club was given $1,000 to provide swimming lessons to elementary-age children. The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County was able to provide 100 first graders with eight weeks of daily swimming lessons and water safety instruction. The Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club in Sarasota provided swimming lessons to needy children from central Sarasota and the Newtown community.  A total of 42 children received swimming lessons for more than an hour a day for two weeks. “We’re thrilled with this opportunity,” said J. Mack Reid, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County.  “We believe that swimming is a life-saving skill, and we are so happy to help kids learn to swim.  We’re grateful for the support of the Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation.” The Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that supports programs that offer swimming lessons and educate families about swimming pool safety.  Visit www.pooleducationandsafety.org for more information.  The foundation is allied with the Florida Swimming Pool Association.
