Comeback Show

It will be years before the pool and spa industry regains the heights it enjoyed before the downturn, and nobody talks about a V-shaped recession anymore, but there's reason to think that this year will mark the start of the show climb back to prosperity. That's what IPSPE conference manager Tracy Beaulieu believes, and not without foundation.

New Hires and Promotions

Plastimayd, Oregon City, Ore., has hired Ted Kozikowski as the company's new president. Kozikowski will be responsible for leading the continued integration and growth of Plastimayd and Vyn-All Pool Products.

A.O. Smith, Tipp City, Ohio, has named Daniel Drexler vice president of international sales and general industries. Drexler will be responsible for the company's global sales activities as well as management of the company's general industries strategic business unit. He will have oversight over sales and marketing teams in Singapore, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

Delgard, Delair, N.J., introduces its new management team: Mike Pietrzak, vice president of marketing; Charles Como, director of supply chain; and Jerry Shinn, distribution manager.

How The Magic Happens

It's a rare opportunity when AQUA hears from the builder of one of the fantastic pools we've showcased in our Waterfront column. So we were surprised to be contacted by the Natare Corporation, builders of the Sands SkyPark pool at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, with some interesting facts about their magnificent creation.

What Do You Drive?

According to our State of the Industry Service respondents, Ford offers the best service vehicle, with 30.3 percent of the vote. General Motors followed with 25.8 percent and Toyota placed third at 14.2 percent.
