PHTA Seeks User-Consumer Participants for Standards Consensus Committee

PHTA has expanded its interest categories and is currently seeking User-Consumer interest category participants to serve on the Standards Consensus Committee official consensus voting body. The SCC is responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool and hot tub performance standards to be approved by the American National Standards Institute.

Testing Deadline for VGB Compliance Extended

Last week, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously to approve to delay the effective date of CPSC's drain cover standard, ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017 from Nov. 24, 2020, to May 24, 2021. The six-month delay was requested by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance on March 24, 2020 to provide drain cover manufacturers additional time while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted manufacturers and test labs.
