When gas prices rise, it affects everyone, but if you make your living behind the wheel, the stakes are higher. For pool construction and service companies with vehicles moving from job to job, the recent rise in gas prices has had a profound impact on costs, a fact which must be accounted for as companies make adjustments to stay profitable.
As the graphic above makes clear, however, the price of gas varies widely in different regions of the country. Our pool service brothers and sisters on the West Coast can pay as much as $1.72 more per gallon of regular gas than those in the Plains. For a Chevy Silverado or Ford F-150 with a standard 26-gallon tank, that’s $44 more per fill up.
