Pentair Pool Donates $100,000 to Step Into Swim Drowning Prevention Initiative

Pentair Sis Check 2025

Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) dedicated to creating more swimmers through safe swim education, announced that Pentair Pool, an industry-leading manufacturer of pool and spa solutions, has committed $100,000 to the program. The continued partnership, announced at The Pool & Spa Show powered by the Northeast Spa & Pool Association in Atlantic City, N.J., is part of Pentair Pool’s company-wide commitment to water safety education and drowning prevention.

“Pentair Pool has always been a huge advocate of water safety and an incredible partner to PHTA, and we are thrilled to continue that partnership for the second consecutive year through their generous support of Step Into Swim,” says Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines, PHTA Vice President of Partnerships & Development, who leads the Step Into Swim initiative. “Thanks to Pentair Pool, we will have our children be safer and more confident in and around the water—a lifelong skill that saves lives!”

With its Diamond Level support, Pentair Pool will help Step Into Swim provide funding for learn-to-swim programs for thousands of children. Pentair Pool’s commitment to water safety goes beyond its partnership with Step Into Swim — the company has also sponsored the annual National Water Safety Month for 10 years.

“We are proud to partner with Step Into Swim and support their commitment to the important, lifesaving work of teaching children to swim,” says Greg Claffey, PHTA Board Member and Pentair Pool Chief Revenue Officer and President. “Together we can help prevent drowning and allow everyone the opportunity to safely enjoy water.”

Step Into Swim and its supporters provide the lifesaving skill of learning to swim and raise awareness of the pool and hot tub industry’s role in improving public health and safety. In 2024, Step Into Swim raised over $1.2 million, which provided grants across 43 states, Canada, Grand Cayman, and American Samoa and funded swim lessons for over 30,000 children. The initiative has gifted more than 400,000 swim lessons since 2012. Step Into Swim is funded through partner contributions, which are integral for advancing the mission. Every dollar donated goes directly to learn-to-swim programming.
