The Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) is excited to announce that Tim Bower, CAE, has joined NESPA and will lead its Member and Chapter Services Team. With 25 years of experience in all aspects of association management, Tim is skilled in executive leadership, membership development and member retention.

Tim has worked as an executive of national organizations as well as state and local chapters. His unique professional experience will benefit the association as it looks to strengthen NESPA as a whole and its individual chapters.

Tim is a past president of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE) and received the MASAE Distinguished Service Award in 2019. He continues to serve on MASAE committees.

Tim is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He has achieved the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation through ASAE in January 2009 and re-certified in January 2020.

"Enhancing member experiences and growing member connections has been the focus of my professional career," says Tim. "NESPA knows the pool and spa industry, and I'm looking forward to getting to know NESPA's members."

Joining Tim on the Member and Chapter Services team will be Al Guzman and Jessica Swal.

With over two decades of working at NESPA in various roles, Al is one of the most recognized members of the NESPA staff. In addition to being NESPA's resident photographer, Al is the IT director. He regularly assists members with our website and registration systems. Al will now be formally joining the membership team, but he has long served as a staff liaison to NESPA's membership committees, helping volunteer leaders connect with new and prospective members.

Jessica joined the NESPA staff in the fall of 2021 and quickly became a key player. She has various professional experience in customer service and holds a master's degree in organizational leadership from Rider University. During her time at NESPA, she has jumped feet first into any task sent her way and is looking forward to working with members to make sure they are maximizing their NESPA benefits.

"Getting the right people in the right positions makes a good team a great team. At NESPA, we are fortunate to have fantastic employees ready to take on new challenges and grow," says Dominick Mondi, executive director of NESPA. "Under Tim's leadership, our member services will grow to meet our member companies' challenges and expand NESPA's opportunities around our region."

As NESPA make this announcement, the association would also like to recognize the recent retirement of BJ Hann. BJ started at NESPA as the administrative assistant and quickly became a vital member of the membership services team, a position she held for 14 years. "We know she was a trusted resource for our members. Her positive attitude and problem-solving prowess will be missed, but we know our team will step up to fill her shoes."

The team is excited to help the association's members. You can reach out to them at [email protected] or call the office at (609) 689-9111.
