“This new campus will initially double our capacity for Surestone technology with space to continue expansion in the coming years,” says Ryan Kemp, Deckorators’ recently appointed executive vice president.
This new facility represents an investment of approximately $70M (excluding real estate and renovation). Once completed, the site will cover roughly 30 acres — with two buildings providing some 240,000 square feet of manufacturing space — to form a state-of-the-art campus. Scheduled to open Q4 of 2025, the campus is expected to create 50 new jobs in 2026, spanning a variety of roles from production support, logistics, and administrative representatives. The preliminary site work will begin in April 2025.
“We are pleased to welcome Deckorators to Erie County,” says Erie County Industrial Development Agency President and CEO John Cappellino. “The 50 jobs this project will create, and the more than $77 million they are investing into their new operation in Lackawanna, make Deckorators a major contributor to improving economic growth in Western New York. ECIDA incentives help keep Erie County competitive in the global competition for these types of jobs, and we thank Deckorators for choosing Lackawanna for their new expansion.”
“In addition to placing more manufacturing power closer to some of our strategic markets, the new facility will also reduce redundancy in manufacturing sites for our Surestone technology as we look to bolster our business continuity plans. Our new site will initially double our capacity for Surestone technology with space to continue expansion in the coming years,” says Kemp.
