Lyon Financial

Gina Jernigan | President | Lyon FinancialGina Jernigan | President | Lyon FinancialLyon Financial has built its business around strong relationships and personal service. Now, two years into employee ownership, President Gina Jernigan reflects on how that shift has influenced the company’s culture and what it means for Lyon’s future.

AQUA: What made employee ownership the right long-term path for Lyon?

Gina Jernigan, President, Lyon Financial: Lyon has always been focused on our people and the long-term success of the company. Becoming employee-owned was a natural extension of that, giving our employees a personal stake in Lyon while helping protect the stability, relationships and values that have built the company.

AQ: After two years of employee ownership, how do you see that ownership mindset showing up across the company?

GJ: I think there is an even greater sense of pride and accountability. Our employees understand that what they do every day contributes to Lyon’s overall success, and they have a personal stake in that success.

AQ: What does being employee-owned mean for Lyon’s builders, contractors and strategic partners?

GJ: For our partners, the most important thing to know is that Lyon is still the same company and team they have trusted for years. Employee ownership strengthens our long-term commitment to those relationships.

Having been in this industry for more than 30 years, I know how important stability and consistency are to contractors. They need confidence not only in the financing options they present, but also in the partner standing behind them.

AQ: What does “The Lyon Difference” mean to you, and how does employee ownership support it?

GJ: The Lyon Difference is about our people, our relationships and the personal service we provide. Employee ownership reinforces that by creating even more pride, accountability and investment in the way we take care of our contractors, customers and lending partners.

AQ: As Lyon continues to grow and evolve, how do you balance technology and innovation with personal service?

GJ: We will continue to improve our technology and make the financing process faster and more efficient, but we never want to lose the hands-on, relationship-driven approach Lyon is known for. Technology should improve the experience, not replace the relationships behind it.

AQ: As president, when you look at Lyon’s future, what are you most excited about?

GJ: I’m excited about continuing to grow and evolve while staying true to what has made Lyon successful. That balance of innovation, personal service, stability and trust is what I believe will continue to set Lyon apart for years to come.
