PoolWarden Controllers, a well-known line of chemical controllers for commercial aquatic facilities based in Grass Valley, Calif., has changed hands and is now owned by long-time employees Gary and Alicia Baku. The PoolWarden controllers will now be made, sold and shipped through newly created Seaside Automation, which is still located in Grass Valley, Calif.
“We are very excited to have purchased the PoolWarden line of products,” says Gary Baku, the company’s new COO. Gary has led the assembly and contributed to the engineering of the PoolWarden chemical controllers for the last 10 years. “This was a unique opportunity to continue to offer these technologically advanced chemical controllers and propel them into a broader market.” Gary began with the company in 1999 when it was Acu-Trol in Auburn, Calif.
The new owners plan to continue business as usual for the 2022 season with the hopes of adding new products and features in 2023. “For the most part, it will be business and usual,” says Alicia Baku, the company’s new CEO who worked in corporate business administration before managing the orders and AR department for the PoolWarden chemical controllers.
“Our existing customers will still have the same people answering the phone, taking orders, making and shipping the product,” says Alicia. “And we hope to serve many new clients in 2022, with our focus being strictly on pool chemical controllers. We welcome any dealers looking for a new source for their chemical controllers.”
