As you may already know, Becky Strauss, our associate editor for the past two years, has left her position at AQUA to set off and see the world.
Literally.
Over the next seven months, Becky will travel through London, Paris, Greece, Italy, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and India before returning to Madison to (maybe) open a bakery. Becky has always wanted to take this trip, and while most of us just dream about our own personal adventure-ofa-lifetime, she figured out a way to do it.
Becky let us know about her plan months in advance, still we knew it would be very difficult to fill her tiny little shoes. Her boundless energy, sense of humor and writing ability left an impression on the magazine and the staff.
While we will miss Becky, we feel very lucky to welcome Jenna Elliott as the newest member of the AQUA staff. We had to read through approximately 120 resumes (!) to find her, but we think you'll agree that it was well worth the effort.
Jenna comes to us from the American Red Cross, where she served as a communications and public relations specialist. Like Becky, she earned a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate program in journalism where she was editor-in-chief of Curb, an online lifestyle magazine produced by the school.
Jenna has a passion for publishing and her background also includes time with Orlando Leisure magazine, The Faulkner Journal and the University of Wisconsin Press.
