The Seventeenth Annual AQUA 100

Welcome to the 17th Annual AQUA 100, our listing of the most-professional retailers, builders and service companies in the business. In reading the profiles, you'll notice a wide range of products sold, services rendered and pools built. What you won't see, though, is how many products they sold, how many customers they've got on their routes, how many pools and spas they built and how much money they took in. Why. Well, while it may satisfy everyone's curiosity to see how they compare with the companies on the list, we feel taking numbers out of the equation levels the playing field. Professionalism is as likely to come from a small above-ground dealer in, say, Iowa, as a mega-builder of custom pools in California or Florida. We believe that each has something readers can learn from and emulate.

We'd also like to thank all those who took the time to enter, and regret that we can't bestow AQUA 100 status on more of them, because there are certainly many excellent companies that didn't make it.

But above all, we extend congratulations to the winners, and hope you can pick up some wisdom from them that will help you earn a spot on the list next year.
