The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP) invites industry members to join its Technical Committee as well as the APSP-7, APSP-5 and APSP-1 Standard committees.
The Technical Committee reviews all the technical, safety and health affairs of the APSP, specifically for technical accuracy product-related consensus standards. Members are selected to provide technical expertise for pool and spa design, construction and operation.
The Suction Entrapment Avoidance Standard (APSP-7) committee will draft new language in the form of a supplement. Members are selected to provide technical expertise for pool and spa circulation system design and operation.
With the next five-year ANSI review cycle of the Standard for Public Swimming Pools (update of ANSI/NSPI-1 2003) on its way, the APSP is looking for members with expertise in commercial pool facilities and expertise in design, construction and operation of these facilities.
The Residential In-ground Pool Standard (APSP-5) committee is beginning a cover-to-cover review and rewrite for publication of the next edition.

IPSE Updates Agreement With APSP
The International Pool & Spa Expo (IPSE) recently updated its agreement with the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP). The new agreement was signed into effect on May 11, 2007, and runs through 2046.
Under the terms of the new agreement, APSP will continue to receive top billing as the Expo sponsor. A new floor feature will include the APSP Village, a booth where members and APSP staff and affinity partners can meet. The updated agreement will also enable APSP to expand its educational offerings.
