At the annual meeting of the Master Pools Guild on March 14, in Tampa, Fla., 44 members were celebrated with awards of excellence. The Grand International Award of Excellence was given to Watermania in Guatemala for the second year running.
Annual sponsors of the Master Pools Guild included BioLab, Pentair, POOLCORP, Zodiac, Hayward, A & A Manufacturing, Arch/Lonza and Pebble Technology, along with several pool and spa industry professionals.
Events of the meeting included a builder/vendor breakfast, educational sessions, and a closing dinner. The evening ended with Latin music and salsa dancers who encouraged guests to get up and dance throughout the night.
Presentations were given by Mark Dorsey of Medallion Pools in North Carolina, Cham Carpenter of Prestige Pools & Spas in Oklahoma, and Tim Rainey, Jr., and Brent Longbotham of Rainey Pools in Texas. Randy Pickleman of Curtis Pools in Florida also spoke during the closing dinner.
βAlways a time of renewal of friendships, this gathering of members of the Guild was also infused with a fresh sense of excitement and anticipation for the 2012 season. Over and over again members could be heard discussing improved sales. Laughter and optimism were shared in abundance and the meeting adjourned with all in attendance looking forward to meeting in Vancouver in October to celebrate in grand style the Guildβs 50 year anniversary,β the Master Pools Guild said in a press release.
