“Even if a customer uses us for price, we know they’ll be back for the quality and service.”

E-Konomy Pool Service & Supplies is celebrating 61 years in Tucson, Ariz. “Our commitment to ‘Service We’re Proud Of’ and ‘Service Beyond Your Expectations’ — both company mottos — has helped us to grow to 80-plus employees that are proud to work for us,” says Kristi Blotkamp.
E-Konomy provides a full range of maintenance, renovation and repair services for inground pools and hot tubs, and across two retail locations, the company has an extensive inventory of pool and hot tub supplies, chemicals and parts, including backyard items such as YETI and Big Green Egg. Each showroom offers a children’s area where they can play and color while their parents shop. Kids can even munch on free popcorn, as the space has its very own popcorn machine.
The company has a reputation for philanthropy and is very involved in its surrounding communities. “We are always participating in, donating to, or hosting community programs,” says Blotkamp. “We like to give back to our community.”
Over the past five years, E-Konomy has hosted its “Stuff the Spa” campaign to collect toy donations towards Toys for Tots over the holiday season. The event is a win-win, as not only does the company have huge success in collecting toys, there is an increase in store traffic, too. Other philanthropic efforts include raising over $10,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2019, sponsoring free swimming lessons at the YMCA, providing school supplies via the Cares for Classroom initiative and much, much more.
With an extensive Q&A page on its website, E-Konomy sets its customers up for success — and if they don’t find an answer online, a “Contact Us” form is available. Customers can also text the business directly. “We do whatever it takes to provide dependable customer service to our customers,” says Blotkamp. “We always say, ‘We work, you play!’”
E-Konomy is very active online, posting to Facebook and Instagram often. Each month, the company announces a raffle on its social channels, offering up various items, from YETI dog bowls to lunch boxes to t-shirts. Employees recently shared them partaking in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge day, a huge fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics and the participating athletes.
The company also recently acquired Worry Free Pool Service, an acquisition that “made sense because of the Worry Free team, their focus on providing a high level of service to customers, and the cultural fit between the organizations,” explains E-Konomy’s President Dapo Fadeyi.
