This year, vinyl liners are doing double duty by serving your customers and helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Merlin Industries, Inc. recently announced their 2013 Hurricane Sandy Relief Liner Program, in which three of the eight new patterns crafted for 2013 are designated "Hurricane Sandy Relief Patterns" and named after three cities affected by the storm: Atlantic City, Breezy Point, and Seaside Heights. For each "Sandy" pattern sold through June 30, 2013, Merlin will donate $10 to the American Red Cross: Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.

Merlin also offered their suppliers, distributors and dealer base the option to participate in the program. O’Sullivan Films, i2M, and Canadian General Tower, Merlin’s primary vinyl suppliers, have already agreed to match Merlin’s donation of $10 per each of their liner patterns sold, bringing the current donation to $20 per "Sandy" liner sold. Merlin expects strong participation from their distributors and dealers as well.

“Being from New Jersey, we at Merlin experienced the storm firsthand and have seen the tremendous effect it has had on our customers, our employees, and our friends,” says Merlin Industries President Andrew Maggion. “We want to show our continued support, and provide an opportunity for those connected with us to do the same during the long and difficult aftermath of this disaster.”

It is estimated that Hurricane Sandy caused more than $70 billion in overall damages and lost business activity. The destruction spans 17 states, with more than 380,000 homes and businesses destroyed and 132 deaths on the US mainland alone. According to Moody’s Analytics, Hurricane Sandy ranks among the most devastating and costliest disasters in the United States.
