In Memoriam: Larry Biscornet

On December 31, 2018, former APSP Board Chair Lawrence (Larry) Biscornet passed away in Safety Harbor, Florida. Biscornet was active in the pool and spa industry for more than 50 years; he was the owner of LBI Swimming Pools and Spas in New Rochelle, N.Y., but he also made industry activism a priority, serving in several leadership positions with NSPI, APSP, NESPA and the NESPA NY/NJ Metro Chapter.

In addition to his leadership service, Larry was recognized as an APSP Fellow in 2014, an honor reserved for the industry’s most prominent individuals who have made contributions to raise professionalism in the aquatics community through teaching, research and/or exemplary service to others.

A memorial service was held January 7 at the Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. In lieu of donations, the family asks that cards be sent to his wife Dorothy Biscornet. Those interested can email APSP at [email protected] for the address. Later in the spring, a memorial service will be held in the New Rochelle, N.Y., area. Details are still pending.
