Conveniently located at 101 McHenry Road, the swim school has undergone a series of updates designed with local families in mind. The renovated facility features new showers and tile walls on both pool decks, brand-new murals and refreshed branding, upgraded changing room partitions, fresh lobby carpeting, new lighting throughout the lobby and changing room areas, and new reception desk stations. While the look and feel of the swim school have been refreshed, Big Blue's focus remains the same: helping children build confidence and make meaningful progress in the water in a welcoming environment that families enjoy returning to each week.

To mark the grand reopening, Big Blue Buffalo Grove will host a Grand Reopening Celebration on Saturday, August 15, from 12 to 4 p.m. Free for enrolled families, prospective members and the local community, the celebration will feature a DJ, face painting, balloon artists, snacks and beverages, along with tours of the newly renovated facility and opportunities to meet the local team and learn more about Big Blue's specialized, progress-driven curriculum. As families prepare for the back-to-school season and establish new routines, the grand reopening provides an ideal opportunity to begin or continue swim lessons. At Big Blue, lessons are offered across four progressive levels — Baby Blue, Bright Blue, Bold Blue and Big Blue — each designed with a specific class ratio to best support swimmers based on age and skill level. Lessons are 30 minutes in length for all levels except Big Blue, which is a 45-minute class to accommodate more advanced swimmers. Private lessons are available upon request, though standard class ratios are intentionally structured to balance socialization with individualized instructor attention.
