The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals announces the establishment of the APSP Fellows program as the industry’s top recognition for contributions that enhance the professionalism of the pool and spa industry. The peer-nominated honor was developed by the APSP Board of Directors to recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to learning and development through the presentation of educational programs, technical and business publications, and industry related research.
The inaugural cadre of Fellows was named during the APSP Board of Directors Luncheon at the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo November 5. They are: Jana Auringer, The Pool Lady; Bob Barron, CBP, CSP, Baron Pool Service; Steve Barnes, Pentair Aquatic Systems; Dan Johnson, CBP, Swim Inc.; Mark Laven, Latham International; Ron Lacher, CBP, Pool Engineering; Albert Rizzo, CBP, CSP Rizzo Pools; Rick English, CBP, English Pool Consulting; and posthumously honored were Al Inglin, Aqua Pool Service & Spa; and Tom Seechuk, LaMotte.
“APSP is very pleased to recognize these individuals as APSP Fellows,” says Bill Weber, APSP president and CEO. “Each one has distinguished themselves in their own special way, and collectively they represent a true passion for excellence, a commitment to the industry and selfless contributions to the learning and development of others.”
There is no single criterion for selection to the ranks of APSP Fellows. Fellows can be nominated by their peers in the pool and spa industry. Each year, APSP will recognize twelve individuals as Fellows who have made lifelong contributions to the industry, as well as those who are trailblazers, innovators, and leading thinkers who have created a mark of distinction in their careers. APSP Fellows may be nominated from any segment of the industry and may be honored posthumously.
