Poolside in Paris

Wf Paris Seine 1 916 Feat

Paris is a breathtaking city. And there is nothing quite so relaxing and pleasant as sitting in a bistro with a glass of wine, gazing across the Seine toward the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame. Unless perhaps you are gazing across the city of lights with that same glass of wine, but poolside in the new Hôtel OFF Paris Seine, a hotel floating in the middle of the Seine!

The chic new hotel opened its doors — or, perhaps lowered its anchor — near Gare d'Austerlitz and Pont Charles de Gaulle earlier this summer, but it's already caused quite a buzz among those seeking unique accommodation.

The hotel itself is made from two catamaran-style vessels that were constructed in Rennes and sailed down the river to their final home, where they were merged together on either side of a long rectangular swimming pool. Altogether the floating hotel is the largest vessel docked at the French capital. As is clear from these photos, the first floating hotel in France is a pretty cool way to experience the city — especially from the deck of an outdoor pool, a venue as rare in downtown Paris as it is in any large city.
