Our January issue included a project profile by pool and landscape designer Rick Chafey of Red Rock Pools and Spas featuring a terrific new installation with an unusual purple plaster finish, along with a host of other fine details. The photographs used in the story were taken in process by Chafey and his crew and were notably well-made for pictures taken on the fly.
Shortly after the issue went to press, professionally shot images became available from photographer Michael Goodall. Those images (samples pictured here) demonstrate the power and potential of professional photography when combined with work on this high a level. The use of reflections, sunlight and color of the materials and surrounding landscape conspire to create a scene of tremendous beauty.
