"The house has windows on every side," says Ruben Rosa, president of Innovative Pool Design in Houston.
"[The owner] wanted to make sure if you are upstairs on the balconies you are able to see every water feature. If you are in the bedroom, you are able to see a water feature. He wanted to make sure this pool was an addition to the house, a main focal point."
As soon as guests arrive, they are immediately drawn to the large grotto at the far end of the pool. Made of Texas moss rock, the grotto features a slide, waterfall and small seating area where guests can enjoy drinks under the cascading water.
What really accentuates the pool is the perimeter overflow spa. The iridescent, tiger's-eye glass tiled spa can be seen from every angle of the house and appears to be "floating inside the pool," says Rosa. Because the spa is located in the middle of the pool, the client requested a way to create a river effect around it.
"There's another water feature that's up against the house," says Rosa. "It rolls off into a little river, and the little river flows into the pool. It's got seven Waterway jets that are pushing water around the spa like a river.
"The homeowner wanted it that way so he could sit in there in an inner tube and float around the spa." Think lazy river style.
