ASP Launches Virtual Field Day Challenges for ASP Gives Day

America's Swimming Pool Company (ASP), the nation’s most recognized  pool cleaning, repair, and renovation franchise, announced today the brand’s ASP Gives Day fundraising event  in partnership with OneWorld Health, that will take place November 17-19. In an effort to provide clean water to the healthcare setting of the developing world, ASP partnered with OneWorld Health in 2017, to support the cause through its annual Clean Water Matters initiative – ASP Gives Day.

Dedicated to making significant improvements for those living without access to clean water, local ASP franchise owners are competing in a series of virtual field day challenges by making donations to the cause for each event they participate in. Kicking off the challenge on November 17, ASP locations will split into two teams and will compete in East Coast versus West Coast competitions. Followed by the series of events on November 17-18, such as fastest mile run and longest plank, the teams will go head-to-head (virtually) on November 19 for the final event – tug of war – in an effort to publicly raise monetary donations for the Clean Waters Matter movement.

“As a nationally recognized pool service, we are dedicated to being clean water advocates and educating the public about the importance of clean, safe water,” says Stewart Vernon, COO and founder of America’s Swimming Pool Company. “Since our partnership with OneWorld Health, we’ve raised over $50,000 towards the Clean Waters Matters initiative and look forward to increasing that amount this ASP Gives Day.”

America's Swimming Pool Company has been committed to clean water since its founding in 2002 and has taken on the responsibility for improving the world we live in. Both ASP and OneWorld Health believe that one’s birth country should not determine their ability to access basic healthcare. Since 2017, ASP and OneWorld Health have joined forces to bring clean water to the healthcare setting of the developing world.

The partnership combines ASP’s expertise and giving culture with OneWorld Health’s proven success in international healthcare to provide clean water to medical facilities in communities in need today and for generations to come. Since opening its first sustainable medical center in January 2011, OneWorld Health continues to transform healthcare in the developing world one community at a time. OneWorld Health is a sustainable health care approach for developing countries.

“We have a natural alignment with ASP, which is why we chose to partner with the brand in 2017 for their support around the Clean Water Matters movement,” says Dr. Ed O’Bryan, co-founder and CMO of OneWorld Health. “Together, working as a team, we hope to continue to raise awareness around the underserved communities in East Africa and Central America by providing quality, affordable healthcare.”

Safe water is essential for human life. Over 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source, and 5 million people die each year due to diarrheal disease as a result of unsafe drinking water, inadequate availability of water for hygiene, and lack of access to water for sanitation.
