Pinch a Penny Pool Patio Spa Location Opening in the New Year

Pinch a Penny is thrilled to announce the upcoming grand opening of its newest storefront in the Houston metro area on January 3. The rapidly expanding franchise is excited to welcome franchise owners Juan “J.C.” Burgoa and his wife, Janeth Zabalaga, to the Pinch a Penny franchise family. The couple began building its client base nearly two months ago with pool services ahead of the much-anticipated store opening.

A successful career as a petroleum engineer took Burgoa and his family to 15 countries, from Asia and the Middle East to the Americas. After 30 years, the retired international businessman is ready to establish a long-term home for his family of five. He and Janeth are dropping their anchor in the Houston metro with a Pinch a Penny Pool Patio Spa franchise opening in the new year in the Augusta Woods Village off Kuykendahl Road in NW Spring, Texas.

“It was tough to get time with family in my previous career, so now the five of us are enjoying building something together with our Pinch A Penny franchise,” says Burgoa, whose kids — ages 21, 17 and 12 — are helping to ramp up the business. “It’s also really nice working with my wife. We are not just a couple; we are partners and colleagues. It’s easy to work with your best friend.”

As Burgoa neared retirement, the transitioning corporate executive and his wife became interested in franchising as a reliable “safety net” for their family. After settling into Houston as their permanent home in 2019, their search for the best franchise opportunity quickly led the couple to Pinch A Penny. The franchise was highly recommended by a friend and fellow Texan Pinch a Penny franchisee who experienced fast success with the brand in Cypress, Texas.

“Owning a Pinch a Penny really aligns well with my business expertise, despite not knowing much about pool products and services before we signed the franchise agreement,” Burgoa says. “It has always been my job to focus on service and quality and build trust with customers, but corporate life is much colder. I’m enjoying working directly with my community and neighbors to make that good impression.”

Pool and spa owners are invited to celebrate the NW Spring store’s grand opening and learn more about Pinch a Penny Pool Patio Spa products and services on January 3 at the newest franchise location, 25640 Kuykendahl Road, Suite E in Tomball, Texas. The new storefront will be open seven days a week.

“We’re excited to welcome J.C. and Janeth to the Pinch a Penny family,” says Jim Eisch, president of Pinch a Penny, Inc. “They hit the ground running since completing our comprehensive pre-opening training course and are already offering monthly pool service in the NW Spring community. We look forward to watching their franchise thrive and grow, as demand for trustworthy pool and service providers has never been higher in Texas.”

Pinch a Penny franchisees benefit from a personal coach who helps owners learn every aspect of their new business. Burgoa says he was grateful his coach was always readily available to answer questions.

“The franchise has a great training and support system to help you succeed and grow,” says Burgoa. “My family is very hands-on right now. We want to learn all sides of the business. As we hire more employees and managers and establish our first location, we hope to expand and open additional storefronts.”
