Pleatco, a leader in pool and spa filtration products, with longtime co-sponsors GENESIS / Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and media partner AQUA Magazine, proudly announces the winners of the 2022 Perfect Pool Tech Search. The annual contest is an innovative way to honor the hardworking men and women of the pool and spa service industry.
This year, Amy Lemieux of Englewood, Fla., won the prestigious title. In response to winning the award, Lemieux states, “I am so filled with joy and excitement at winning such an honor among my peers! Winning the Pleatco Perfect Pool Tech 2022, I do not take lightly. I will uphold the 'perfect' every day of my life. I try so hard to show my love for the pool industry educating and connecting to customers and learning from my peers. This is like winning the Super Bowl!“
Fred Goss of North Charleston, S.C., put a great deal of effort into making sure his nomination was up at the top of the rankings. Goss remarks, “I am completely honored to receive this recognition for my hard work in an industry that is more than my job but my passion! In my pursuit for continued education and knowledge in the pool field, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people, and to have the opportunity to represent this community is something I will forever be proud of and grateful for."
Pleatco once again expanded the contest and created additional awards. "During our final interviews, we were impressed by the caliber and diversity of a few individuals and felt it was proper to recognize their outstanding achievements,” says Seth Soltow, general manager, Pleatco. "In that spirit, we selected contestants for Special Awards based on their contribution to their community and the pool and spa industry."
Kristine Blanchard of Hooksett, N.H., will receive the Pleatco Future Leadership Award 2022. She remarks: "I have been in the industry for a majority of my life, and for my work to be recognized in such a major way feels pretty incredible. Winning the Pleatco Future Leadership 2022 Award is a huge honor, and I could not be more excited for this opportunity! Thank you to everyone who got me to this point in my career. I hope I made you all proud today!"
Jason Scaramuzzi of Coventry, R.I., was excited to win a major award. He comments: “I am both honored and grateful to receive the Pleatco Industry Achievement Award 2022. This recognition is appreciated, and I would like to thank the people within the industry that I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from. Although so much of this industry is old school – it is also ever-changing. I welcome the opportunity to continue my education while challenging myself to learn new skills and hone the ones that I have learned and work with daily.”
“The service industry is extremely important when it comes to helping owners fully enjoy and appreciate their pools,” adds GENESIS Ambassador and co-founder Brian Van Bower. “We are proud to help honor our hard-working service professionals through the Pleatco contest!” This year’s major winners will each be awarded a GENESIS course - C201: Concrete Pools or C260: Vinyl Liner/Fiberglass Pools.
