
Mark Lum, vice president of risk and safety at National Pool Partners (NPP), is retiring in June 2025 after a remarkable 50-year career in the pool service industry.
“He has saved countless lives through his focus on safety protocols and improvements,” says the company, in a statement about Lum’s incredible impacts on the industry. “He is an expert at evaluating risk and ensuring that there are protections in place for the business and the employees.”
After over 48 years at Leslie’s Poolmart, Lum joined National Pool Partners as vice president of risk and safety in April 2024. His retirement is official on June 27, 2025, but the company has shared that he’ll stay with the company in a contracting role for a period of time.
“He will be so missed when he retires, as he leaves behind an incredible legacy,” the company says. “We are so thankful for all that he has contributed to not just NPP but the industry during his impressive career.”
