The PSP Expo team has been working with esteemed pool designers, Reid Schindler and Mike Farley, and a panel of judges to rank submissions for the 2nd Annual Million Dollar Pool Design Challenge. They have been overwhelmed with the participation and quality of submissions, and after several rounds of scoring and judging, they are proud to announce this year's finalists:
- Tanr Ross, Poolscapes LLC
- Carol Kahn, Carol Kahn Exterior Designs
- Lee Kind, Creative Poolscapes
- Alex Tyler, Alchemy Exteriors
- Anuhya Konda, University of Oklahoma (Student Finalist)
The Million Dollar Pool Design Challenge is designed to give pool and landscape designers, builders and outdoor living architects a real-world scenario from which to deliver innovative design solutions without the restraints of a budget.
The challenge consists of a fictional couple seeking a designer to create the ultimate oasis in their backyard. Their conflicting priorities mimic what the pool industry often experiences when working with clients in real-world situations. Full profiles of the couple and their design needs can be found here.
Finalists will present their designs at the conference session on Wednesday, November 6th at 9:15 a.m. Voting for the winning design will happen live during the session and a winner will be selected. The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize, will be featured in leading-industry publications and be invited to judge the 2020 Million Dollar Pool Design Challenge.
“We are absolutely thrilled with how the industry has responded to this challenge. The quality of submissions is incredible, and the number of people who have engaged with the challenge is astounding. We look forward to selecting a winner at this year’s PSP Expo,” says Tracy Garcia, CEM, show director of the PSP Expo.
