Float Like A Duck Water Safety Grant Program Receives 2025 Step Into Swim Grant

Float Like A Duck, a water safety initiative presented by Paragon Pools in Las Vegas, NV received an $8,000 grant from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Step Into Swim initiative. One hundred percent of the grant funds will be utilized to provide free swimming lessons for at-risk youths in the Las Vegas community in collaboration with the UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) and The City of Las Vegas Aquatics Divisions.

Grant Presentation Unlvsrwc“This is the fifth grant we have received from the PHTA Step Into Swim program. The funds have been a great benefit to our community, ensuring that those at-risk have an opportunity to take qualified swim instruction,” states Joseph Vassallo, CBP president of Paragon Pools and founder of Float Like A Duck.

The grant will be dispersed in the following means, with $5,000 to The City of Las Vegas Aquatics and $3,000 to UNLV SRWC Aquatics.

To date, Paragon Pools’ Float Like A Duck Water Safety Grant Program has distributed over $42,000 throughout the Las Vegas community to provide free swimming lessons and free lifeguard training, resulting in registering close to 2,000 individuals in the programs. In addition, Paragon Pools’ Float Like A Duck Water Safety Grant Program also supported youth aquatic sports through sponsorship of the Nevada Desert Mermaids artistic swim team.
