It’s been a whirlwind year for APSP. Earlier this year, the organization announced a series of dramatic changes designed to revitalize interest and offer more opportunities for its members, and just recently, Richard Gottwald embarked on his tenure as the association’s new CEO.
One of the biggest changes APSP decided on: reducing the size of the board of directors from 24 to nine. And now, we know who those nine people are:
Rich Garbee – Garbee earned a degree in business administration and was recently appointed to the board of directors in July. Garbee has been employed by GLI Pool Products in Youngstown, Ohio, for the past nine years and is the company’s VP of sales and marketing.
Jeff Fausett – Fausett holds a masters degree in finance and accounting and currently serves as chairman of the APSP budget task force. Jeff is the president and CEO of United Aqua Group, formerly known as Aquatech. Fausett is also an APSP Certified Building Professional.
Bruce Fisher – Fisher has a degree in economics and marketing and recently served as chairman of the CEO search committee. Fisher is retired after a 22-year career at Hayward Pool Products. According to APSP, Fisher was chosen for his extensive experience in strategy management that proved instrumental at Hayward — and will hopefully benefit APSP as well.
Joe Vassallo – The nominating committee selected Joe Vassallo to fill the balance of Jana Auringer’s term. Vassallo is an APSP Certified Building Professional and was selected by his peers as APSP’s 2012 CBP of the Year. Vassallo founded Paragon Pools in Las Vegas and has served on the board of directors and the executive committee, most recently in the position of secretary treasurer.
