You know the song: "99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer ..."

But why have 99 bottles of beer on the wall when you can have 42,000 pints of beer in a pool?

No, we’re not kidding. Austria’s Starkenberger Brewery bills itself as a beer resort for connoisseurs to enjoy history, trivia and, of course, drinks. And the best part: in the cellars of the brewery, you’ll find seven pools, each measuring 13 feet long, all full of beer. According to the hotel, these are the world’s only beer-filled swimming pools.

As if you actually need a reason to swim in beer, there are some health benefits: the spirit is rich in vitamins and calcium, and sitting in beer can be good for the skin.

And to answer the question surely on your mind, the brewery advises against drinking from the pool.

But hey, we won’t tell anyone.
