Congratulations goes out to the 2012 Pleatco Perfect Pool Guy, Tom Cucinotta of Cucinotta's Pool Service in Lake Worth, Fla., and Pool Gal Mari Lange of Algae Eaters Pool Service in Brandenton, Fla. Cucinotta and Lange received their awards at the Pleatco booth November 7 during the 2012 International Pool | Spa & Patio Expo in New Orleans. Genesis 3 co-founders Brian Van Bower and Skip Phillips were on hand to present the awards and to congratulate the winners.

Genesis 3 is a proud sponsor of the Pleatco Perfect Pool Guy and Pool Gal program and supplies each winner with a scholarship for the Genesis 3 Service Certification School programs, valued at more than $5,000.

“I had a great learning experience with the Genesis 3 Elements of Construction school in New Orleans,” says Pool Gal winner Mari Lange. “I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about being in this business, even if you will never build a pool, it will help you every day in your service and repair business. I now feel that I can actually hold an intelligent conversation with any pool builder.”

“Thank you Genesis 3 for all of the knowledge and confidence.” PoolGuy winner raved.

“I returned to work on Friday and my second stop was a brand new fire up,” says Pool Guy winner Tom Cucinotta. “There were three pools and one spa. As I walked around the project I was looking at details. I took the time to find out what strength the shotcrete was. The floors were poured and the walls were shot. I watched the plaster crews like never before. All of your instructors are awesome and I'm ready to take on bigger projects.”

“Genesis 3 has supported Pleatco’s Perfect Pool Guy/Gal contest for the last three years,” says John Antretter, COO, Pleatco. “Whatever we can do to help these dedicated men and woman succeed, strengthens our business and our industry.”

In addition to honoring the 2012 Pleatco Perfect Pool Guy and Gal, Genesis 3 educated more than 50 students at the organization’s design schools at PSP 2012.

New to the Genesis 3 Design Schools this year included, Kate Wiseman, MLA, APLD and Michael Johnson, AIA.  Wiseman, principal landscape designer for Sage Outdoor Designs, created an educational atmosphere for the Elements of Design School second to none.  With the course development and one-on-one teaching, students were subjected to an intense twenty hours of design education, which included each student creating their own design model for examination.

“The level of improvement that I saw in the student's work over the course of the class was remarkable and inspiring,” says Kate Wiseman, , principal landscape designer for Sage Outdoor Designs. She led the Elements of Design School. “One of the main goals of the Genesis 3 program is to open people's minds and show them that they have the opportunity to be working at a much higher level, and this course absolutely meets that goal. I think we are going to be seeing some excellent work from these students and I am looking forward to keeping an eye on their careers.”

Other courses included 20th Century Architectural Styles, Introduction to Perspective Drawing and SketchUp class.
