Pebble Technology, a leading supplier of interior finishes, has announced that it is partnering with Artistic Resources & Training (ART) to sponsor and host ART’s first educational forum.
Set for May 19-20, 2012, at Pebble Technology’s training facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., the two scheduled educational sessions are designed to build the materials awareness, communications and presentation skills needed to work with demanding clients in today’s marketplace. This premiere forum will include two eight-hour courses: ART: The Color of Water and Advanced Design Techniques.
Founded by landscape architect Mark Holden in collaboration with a range of other design professionals (including David Tisherman, Kevin Fleming, Larry Drasin, Judith Corona, Eric Herman, Richard Lee and Eric Gerds), ART will deliver instruction over a range of topics critical to those who work with decorative and recreational water and outdoor environments in all of their forms, the group said.
“This type of training has never been available,” Holden explained. “As Tisherman has always said, there have been steps in the right direction in recent years, but most of the programs are taught by people who are not educated in design. ART is going to change that.”
“At its core,” added Holden, “ART will help professionals grow well beyond the compromises inherent in commodity-based approaches to design and will instead encourage development of more creative, more artisanal design processes. The goal is to take students’ existing educational skills and demonstrate ways they can apply what they already know in striving for a more profitable, enjoyable and professionally rewarding future.”
