World Aquatic Health Conference Draws Crowd In Seattle

WAHCLast month's World Aquatic Health Conference, which took place in Seattle, drew 410 registrations, an increase of 30 percent over the previous year, according to the National Swimming Pool Foundation, which hosts the annual event.

"Like the innovators before us who earned prosperity, the conference attracts leaders who have curious minds, who seek opportunity, who are preparing for the future," said NSPF CEO Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D. "After all, as Pasteur taught us, 'Chance favors the prepared mind,' and the WAHC illuminates opportunities."

According to show officials, attendees came from 42 states and Puerto Rico, plus Australia, Canada, Israel, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

"Eight major meetings and workshops were held adjacent to the WAHC," said Michelle Kavanaugh, a show organizer. "This allows strategic leaders of organizations like USA Swimming, the Aquatic Exercise Association, The Y, the American Red Cross and the CDC to meet and to visit with the conference attendees. We urge companies and organizations to schedule their meetings in conjunction with the World Aquatic Health Conference in 2012."

The seminars from the 2011 World Aquatic Health Conference can be accessed by visiting www.nspf.org and clicking on "Online Training."

The ninth annual WAHC is scheduled for Oct. 10-12, 2012, in Norfolk, Va.
