May Is National Water Safety Month

The National Water Safety Month website has a new, free activity sheet designed to help children learn about water safety. To find it, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit www.nationalwatersafetymonth.com and click "The Pledge" page in the "Consumers" main menu item.

2. Download and print the free Safe Swimmer's Pledge activity sheet, complete with water safety rules and a large pledge badge for coloring.

3. Watch the Safe Swimmer's Pledge video to hear the pledge spoken by children in several languages. Industry members can encourage parents in their communities to speak with their children or to student group about the importance of water safety rules.

4. If you participate, you can post pictures on the National Water Safety Month Facebook page and Flickr photo pool, or leave a comment on the Safe Swimmer's Pledge blog to share water safety tips of your own.

The activity sheet and ideas are some of many available for professional and consumer use this May. Visit www.nationalwatersafetymonth.com to learn more about the campaign and what you can do to help others swim safely this summer.
