The Houston chapter and its members will join forces this winter and install a pool for the most inspirational and deserving applicant. Applicants will be able to apply online through the APSP website.
The program was launched a year ago, to “recognize that the health benefits of a backyard swimming pool are vast and should be accessible to those families in need of the health benefits regardless of their financial situation,” according to a press release.
The Houston Chapter donated a gunite swimming pool in February 2012 to First Lieutenant Ebarb after reviewing the many applicants who shared moving stories about how a swimming pool would be beneficial.
Among those who contributed the products and labor needed to complete the pool for the Ebarbs were Adams Tile and Coping, Advanced Concrete Designs, Aqua Cal, Best Clean up, Custom Electric, GDL Services, Hayward, Jandy, Muniz Decking, Age Rebar, Pentair, Platinum Pools, Prestige Gunite, R.D Pool Plumbing, Statewide Contracting, Rainbow Construction and Uno Pool Plastering.
“When we read Daniel?s story, we all knew that this was our 2012 recipient of the pool. We appreciate all that he has done to serve and protect our great nation.” said Christopher Anderson, APSP chapter president.
Submissions for next year's pool will be accepted until November, when the APSP board will review the applications and go through their rigid selection process.
