With the Christmas holiday but a fond memory and the New Year in full swing, it's time to start planning for the annual trek to the Jersey Shore and The Pool and Spa Show.
For over three decades this show has maintained its character as a comprehensive exhibition that, despite its size, offers a cozy and relaxed setting for networking, sales and education.

With the industry in growth mode, the 2017 edition promises to be the liveliest and most beneficial in many years.
Although the conference opens with day-long courses on Sunday, Jan. 22, the celebration begins in earnest on Monday, Jan. 23, with the Welcome Party. This year's gala will be held at Bally's Saloon Bar — an upscale venue in Bally's newly remodeled Wild West Casino.
A $20 ticket buys you drinks, games, treats and barbecue snacks amidst live music and dancing. The Saloon Bar features gaming tables, slot machines as well as beer pong tables and even a mechanical bull for the cowboys in the crowd. The fun starts at 7 p.m. and don't be late!
The heart of the show runs from Tuesday through Thursday with exhibits daily and a full slate of industry education courses (see p. 83) beginning each day at 8 a.m.
These seminars offer attendees the best way to stay abreast of advancing technologies, methods and business strategies, as well as quickly changing laws and codes. Builder, service and retail learning opportunities abound for companies looking to increase their level of professionalism.
Among the educational highlights of this year's show is the return of The Wall, a delightful, hands-on tool for understanding hydraulics and pool and spa equipment. The 2017 edition has been expanded and enhanced for an even more exciting experience.
This year there are five unique demonstration areas: heat pumps and heaters, LED lighting, electrical grounding and bonding, water flow design and energy-saving pumps.
But the real benefit of The Pool and Spa Show is the easy opportunity to talk pools and spas with colleagues one-on-one in an enjoyable setting. The Atlantic City Convention Center will be buzzing with these conversations in late January. We hope you'll stop by the AQUA booth and say hello.
AC: All About ValuePerhaps the word that best describes The Pool and Spa Show is value — it provides a host of benefits at a reasonable cost for attendees. As of this writing, the following hotels were offering their sumptuous accommodations for these attractive prices: Bally's | $55 per night |
