26-Year Pool Sales Veteran Launches New Training Platform, “Swimming in Sales”

Swimming in Sales, a new professional sales training platform built specifically for the pool industry, has announced its launch. Founded by Russ Bourque, a pool sales professional with 26 years of experience and more than $40 million in career sales volume, the platform is the first of its kind, according to Bourque, to be created and operated by someone actively working in pool sales.

The platform’s flagship offering is a 12-module digital course covering the complete arc of a pool sales career — from industry orientation and product knowledge through advanced closing techniques, objection handling, and long-term career strategy. Each module includes word-for-word scripts, role-play exercises, and real-world applications drawn from Bourque’s tenure in the Jacksonville, Fla., market.

“I’m still on the floor, still closing deals, and still learning,” says Bourque. “Swimming in Sales is the curriculum I wish I’d had on day one — and it’s built for the way pool sales actually work in the real world.”

In addition to the core course, Swimming in Sales offers “The Rescue Squad,” a 90-day group coaching program designed for pool sales professionals looking for structured accountability and live instruction. A free resource — “7 Secrets to Closing Pool Sales” — is available to download at swimminginsales.com.

The pool industry represents one of the largest high-ticket in-home purchase categories in the country, according to Bourque, yet formal sales training programs tailored to the industry have remained scarce. Swimming in Sales aims to fill that gap with content grounded in current market conditions, real buyer psychology, and the economics of today’s pool industry.
