PHTA Launches Women of Water Podcast

Podcast Wow
The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa industry, announces the launch of Women of Water, a new video and audio podcast celebrating the women who are shaping the industry, launching September 22, 2026.

Hosted by PHTA President and CEO Sabeena Hickman, CAE, the podcast goes beyond job titles to uncover the stories behind the careers — including the pivotal moments, unexpected opportunities, mentors, risks, setbacks, and successes that help build great leaders.

Each episode features a candid conversation with a woman whose experience and leadership offer valuable lessons for professionals at every stage of their careers. Topics will range from career transitions and mentorship to navigating barriers, building confidence, leading through change, and creating new opportunities for others.

Women are shaping every part of the pool, spa, and hot tub industry, and their stories deserve a platform,” says Sabeena Hickman, CAE, President and CEO of PHTA and host of Women of Water. “This podcast goes beyond job titles to explore the pivotal moments, challenges, mentors, risks, and unexpected opportunities that build a career. By sharing those experiences honestly, we can help women see new possibilities for themselves, strengthen connections across the industry, and encourage the next generation of leaders to step forward.”

New Women of Water episodes will be released twice each month in video and audio formats. Viewers and listeners can follow the series on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. Each full episode will also be supported by short-form video content designed to extend the conversation and reach new audiences across digital channels.

The podcast expands Women of Water into an ongoing storytelling and professional-development platform that complements the initiative’s in-person events, virtual learning sessions, and industry engagement opportunities. A dedicated WOW task force provides direction and guidance to help ensure programming reflects the interests and needs of women working throughout the aquatics industry.

Launched in 2025 by PHTA and founding sponsor POOLCORP, Women of Water supports women across every segment of the pool, spa, and hot tub industry. The initiative is also supported by charter sponsors Backyard Oasis, BioLab, Carecraft, FLUIDRA, Hayward, Heritage, MPG, OnCore Filtration, Pentair Pool, and Solenis.
