Clear Comfort Joins GivingTuesday With Two Donations

In honor of Giving Tuesday, the Clear Comfort Cares Program is doubling its AOP sanitation system donations to two deserving organizations that use pools or spas as tools to help, heal or teach members in its community. The Omaha Home for Boys’ (OHB) and George Mark Children’s House are each receiving a Clear Comfort AOP water treatment system to provide a healthier, cleaner and more enjoyable swimming environment.

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of radical generosity to transform communities and the world. Giving Tuesday takes place on November 30, 2021.

George Mark Children’s House, located in San Leandro, California, focuses on quality of life and continuity of care for children with illnesses that modern healthcare cannot yet cure, or for those who have chronic medical conditions.

“We are proud to be able to contribute to the amazing work done by the George Mark Children’s House. Their use of water therapy to aid patients is exemplary,” says Steve Berens, CEO at Clear Comfort. “Our team is touched to be able to help in this way to serve these children and their families.”

The George Mark model of pediatric palliative care strives to achieve greater well-being and quality of life for children and their families. The organization makes a substantial difference in the lives of the children and families they serve, at significantly less cost than that of an acute care hospital facility.

“We are honored to be a selected recipient of the Clear Comfort Cares Program AOP donation,” says Linda Ashcraft-Hudak, CEO of the George Mark Children’s House. “This donation will have a lasting impact on our growth and meaningful efforts to help children with complex medical conditions experience joy, relaxation and overall well being through hydrotherapy and pediatric palliative aquatics.”

The Clear Comfort Advanced Oxidation (AOP) pool system donation will help the George Mark Children’s House’s aquatic therapy reduce harmful chloramine exposure. With this donation, the George Mark Children’s House’s children and staff can enjoy fresh-feeling, odorless water with up to 50 percent less chlorine and other harmful chemicals.

The Omaha Home for Boys’ (OHB) is also a winner of the Clear Comfort Cares Program, recognizing OHB’s efforts to help youth and families overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. With the Clear Comfort Advanced Oxidation (AOP) pool system donation, the OHB community can enjoy the best, healthiest, freshest swimming environment for lessons, exercise and enjoyment.

“Strengthening the community with skills that will help them lead independent lives is incredibly important,” says Berens. “We are excited to be able to recognize the Omaha Home for Boys and honored to partner with the Aqua-Chem team to improve their swimming experience.”

“We are proud to be a part of recognizing the Omaha Home for Boys with this award. We are happy to be donating our services to such a worthy cause,” says Scott Holtmeyer, president of Aqua-Chem, Inc. “The Clear Comfort AOP system will greatly assist with their aquatic programs and allow more youth and families to learn to swim in the healthiest possible pool water.”

The OHB is a staple of its community working to transform and save lives through programs focused on education, employment, substance abuse, life skills, health and wellness and beyond. The OHB’s recreation center assists its important mission by providing swim lessons and hosting a swim team and swim school. The Clear Comfort AOP system will allow staff to focus on expanding their programs and services with reduced system maintenance and simplified water care.

Additionally, to honor the OHB’s efforts to provide its community with opportunities to grow, learn and succeed, Aqua-Chem, Inc., a commercial pool service provider, has generously agreed to donate its services to install the Clear Comfort AOP system at the OHB.

In honor of GivingTuesday, Clear Comfort has called for another round of nominations. Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis. To be considered for the next round in February 2022, please nominate your facility by January 31, 2022. Anyone is invited to nominate a deserving aquatic facility on clearcomfort.com/cares-program

The nominated aquatics facility or organization’s aquatic programs must be specifically designed to use water as a tool for physical health, safety, rehabilitating or healing its community members. The Clear Comfort AOP system donation is meant to enhance the quality of the water in which these special aquatics programs will be provided.

The Clear Comfort Cares Program donation will include everything needed for a simple and complete AOP system installation. Clear Comfort will work with local service providers to help minimize installation costs. Clear Comfort’s network of top-notch service companies will have the opportunity to nominate their customers' facility as long as they contribute the installation services as part of their nomination.
