The Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) is hosting a free webinar, “Emergency Management: Taking Care of Your Team Before and After an Incident,” on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to noon ET. The session, part of CMAHC’s quarterly webinar series, is sponsored by Solenis.
Tyler Anderson, president of the International Lifeguard Critical Incident Response Alliance (ILCIRA), will lead the presentation. Anderson will address the significant mental health challenges that lifeguards and aquatic professionals face. He will also share practical strategies adapted from other first responder communities to build team resilience and provide critical support.
The webinar will cover methods for identifying common psychological and behavioral reactions to stressful events, building resistance to stress, and applying crisis intervention practices within aquatic facilities. Attendees will gain practical skills, such as spotting early signs of distress and knowing when to seek outside support after an incident.
CMAHC members can attend the webinar and earn CEUs at no cost. For non-members, registration is free, with CEUs available for a $15 fee.
