UWO: VariPool Highline Pool Heat Pumps

UPO air purifier with blue cooling airflow and orange heating elements illustrated above and around the device

UWO, a heat pump manufacturer, has introduced the VariPool Highline series, a line of inverter pool heat pumps that has been re-engineered around a single structural change: the discharge airflow has been moved off the top of the cabinet entirely. On Highline, air leaves the unit upward at roughly 45 degrees through louvered grilles on the left, right and rear faces of the upper section, while the top canopy is fully closed. The result is a heat pump that can sit with 50 cm to spare above it beneath an eave, a pergola or a canopy — an installation condition that installers have spent years avoiding, the company says.

At a glance:

  • Combines upper tri-side discharge, a fully closed top and a grille-free front face in a single full-range platform.
  • Closed top canopy — no discharge opening on top. Air leaves at roughly 45 degrees through the upper left, right and rear faces, so 50 cm of clearance to the sides and above is enough.
  • The front face carries no discharge grille — touchscreen and service access only. Zero front discharge: no cold draft and no airflow noise toward the pool deck.
  • Peak COP 19.86 on R32, 24.26 on R290.
  • Coaxial tube-in-tube exchanger and two-tone aluminum cabinet standard.
  • 17 models, 11–45 kW, single- and three-phase, optional PV direct drive on single-phase units.
