For Genesis 3, the 2013 PSP Expo celebrated education and the widespread sense of community among the builder and service segments of the industry. In case you missed it, here’s just a few highlights of how Genesis 3 worked the floor at the PSP Expo:
On Nov. 13, the Genesis 3 clan gathered at the 14th Annual Family Reunion and Winemaker Dinner. Held at the Vintner Grill, guests were treated to a night of fine food with carefully paired wine selections from Benovia Winery. Winemaker Mike Sullivan was even on site to personally describe his delightful wines.
“The passion, dedication, support and work product of the students, members and instructors of Genesis 3 continues to amaze many as we raise the standards and expectations of the entire watershaping world,” said Co-Founder and President Brian Van Bower at the dinner.
For the second year in a row, Genesis 3 hosted on-the-show-floor educational courses in the popular Lifestyle Booth. Instructors spanned a wide range of disciplines, including landscape architects, green pool specialists, water feature specialists and more. These courses, open to all attendees, allowed everyone to have a taste of what the Genesis 3 educational courses are all about. Many were standing room only.
While Genesis 3 focuses on the needs of pool builders, the organization also supports the service industry. To that end, for the fourth year in a row, Genesis 3 sponsored the Pleatco Perfect Pool Guy, Pool Gal and Spa Guy award program. Thomas Rayburn from Parrot Head Pool Service, Dan Stebner from Mountain Water Works, and Amanda Colwell of Aquatrol were each presented with more than $5,000 worth of Genesis 3 educational courses in the Genesis 3 Service Certification program as the grand prize in the contest.
“Our partnership with Pleatco through their President, Howard Smith, continues to remain a valuable program of high importance. Skip Phillips, VP and Co-founder of Genesis 3, and I first came to the pool industry from the service segment and understand the growing importance of properly trained and respectfully recognized service professionals. We look forward to our involvement with Pleatco!” Van Bower says.
